Praise the the Prince of Peace who has become Peace for me. He gives us "peace with God" (Romans 5:1) and the "peace of God" (Philippians 4:7). Thanks for sharing.

Very true. It's not just the things that we turn from, but the One Who we turn to that is important.

Thanks for posting this. God bless you.

In Christ,

Yes...I agree. When we introduce Jesus to others do we tell them that He will solve their problems, give them fulfillment or make them a better person? It isn't about our improvement, it is about His purpose and preeminence. When we pursue the Giver rather than the gift, we find the gift follows. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. But the problem always is the same - the neighbour does not reciprocate! You might enjoy this:

A postscript to my post: The inspiration for this devotional came from two streams of thought. The first is the idea that there should be no separation between my job and ministry. They are part of an integrated whole, that being fulfillment of God's calling. (See my post on vocation.) The second is an incident today at work, where I, being engrossed in my work and trying to serve God in it, got interrupted by a call from my mom. She wanted to discuss church-related stuff. I was gruff with her because I didn't want want to talk about church plans in the middle of my work. When I hung up, I was convicted. So much for treating work and ministry as an integrated whole. My hypocrisy highlighted my need to look to Christ for integrity.
